The Must-See Event for Fine Craftsmanship

It always takes me a little while to come down from the wonder of RÉVÉLATIONS. Each edition brings its own enchantment.

This is no ordinary trade fair. It’s a true ephemeral museum. A museum that tells the story of craftsmanship — French and international alike. The incredible energy that radiates from these creations is something all the works have in common. Some move you more than others, without you being able to explain why. The material, and the strength it exudes, inspires and guides the artisan’s hand. Each maker tames the material in their own way.

Take, for example, the exquisite straw marquetry creations. While the technique is the same for all, the artisan’s hand and imagination make all the difference: the choice of colors, the shapes of the objects, the refinement of the patterns, and the carefully studied contrasts with other materials (brass, wood, bronze…). From a single raw material, artisans reinvent ancestral techniques — and, as proof that each piece is made with heart, no two are ever alike. Each artisan has their own style, their own touch, their own story, and they tell it with their hands.

Feathers have made their way into interior decoration. They captivate architects, decorators, and collectors in search of the extraordinary. Transformed into works of art, admired between glass panes, light and almost insolent, feathers pair gracefully with materials like paper or glass, and their shimmering tones complement brass perfectly.

Ceramics continue to amaze. They take on countless forms and textures, each piece radiating a unique sensuality. Some artisans even bridge the gap between new technologies and centuries-old traditions by incorporating 3D printing. Whatever the technique, each piece is conceived, drawn, and shaped with precision, emotion, and deep respect for the materials. From vases to totems, to elegant porcelain curtains — these creations elevate any space.

At times, the living material seems to escape the work itself. The artisan contains it, tames it, channels it — while still giving it the freedom to breathe. The artisan, too, expresses themselves with complete freedom, without limits, letting their deepest emotions and feelings come through.

Beyond objects, decorative panels play a major role in enhancing interiors. New materials are appearing on the walls: refined textiles (cotton, linen), intricate wood marquetry (amboina burl and other rare species), raw elements like cement, slate, oxidized bronze and zinc, and delicately dried and sewn tree leaves.

Each material is a sculpture in itself. Creation knows no rest. Even everyday objects are elevated to the level of sculpture.

These creations are an endless source of inspiration. They delight us and confirm just how vast the field of possibilities truly is. RENÉE PARIS is here to help you bring beautiful, bespoke pieces to life alongside immensely talented artisans.
